Bookings: best practices

When to use this

  • You need a guest link for an upcoming stay.
  • You want your Airbnb, Booking.com or Vrbo reservations to become guest links on their own.

Steps

  1. Fastest way: in Bookings, on the Upcoming & current tab, use the New booking card. Choose the property, type the guest name if you know it, and tap Week or Weekend: Staysy books the first free week or weekend and the guest link is ready. Tap Pick dates to choose the dates yourself.
  2. You can also start a booking from the month calendar (choose a property, then tap a free day) or from the property: Share links → Stay links → New booking.
  3. Picking dates takes a few short screens: Which property? (skipped when you already chose one), When are they staying? (check-in and check-out together, with suggestions), Who is coming? (guest name and link code, both optional; leave the code empty and Staysy makes one), then Link ready with Share link and Copy.
  4. Check-in cannot be before today in the property’s time zone, and checkout must be after check-in. Active stays on the same property cannot overlap; checkout and the next check-in on the same calendar day is allowed. If dates overlap, change them or end the other booking first.
  5. The Upcoming & current tab opens on a month calendar where each stay is a bar. Tap a bar to open its stay pass: change the dates, times or guest name right there, or use Share pass, Preview as guest, New code or Revoke code.
  6. Below the calendar, each stay card has quick actions: rename the guest, one night less or more, New code, Share guest link, Preview as guest, and Times & details for check-in and checkout times.
  7. To sync a listing, open the property, go to Share links → Sync bookings, paste the listing’s calendar link (iCal) and tap Add. Each reservation becomes a stay with its own guest link, checked again every hour (or tap Sync now). Blocked dates are skipped. Calendar sync is included in the Pro and Custom plans.
  8. Synced stays show From calendar. Airbnb and Booking.com do not send guest names, so tap Add name. A reservation that overlaps a booking you already have is left out and the card tells you. If a reservation disappears from the calendar before check-in, its stay is revoked. Remove stops the sync and keeps the stays it imported.
  9. To end access early, revoke the booking; guests then see a “That stay has wrapped up” page.
  10. Finished stays are read-only. Once a stay has expired or been revoked, or its checkout day is over in the property’s time zone, you can no longer change its dates, guest name or code, so the link your guest still uses to see your places keeps working. You can still archive it, restore it, or revoke it to turn its link off.
